Pride Month often includes everything from festive parades to street festivals to simple lessons in school. In major cities across the United States Gay Pride Day grew into an entire month of celebration and awareness. In the United States the last Sunday in June was initially celebrated as “Gay Pride Day”. The first PRIDE March was in 1970 in New York City. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. More printable activity sheets to celebrate PRIDE to come!
